Data Associations

A Data Association is used to show the flow of information between Data Elements and Activities. It defines the order of data flow in a process.

A Data Association has a source and a target.

Fill in this field in the Attributes tab:

  • Target Reference

    Identifies the target of the Data Association. The target must be a Data Object, Data Input, Data Output or Data Store.

    Select an existing target or create a new one:

    To select an existing target:

    • Click to open the dropdown list and select a target.

    To create a new target:

    1. Click New.

    2. In the panel that opens, select the process where you want to create the target and provide a name, a description (optional) and indicate the data type (Item Definition) and default value.

    3. Click Create and select.

  • Source Reference

    Identifies the source of the Data Association. The source must be a Data Object, Data Input, Data Output or Data Store.

    To create a new source:

    1. Click New.

    2. In the panel that opens, select the process where you want to create the source and provide a name, a description (optional) and indicate the data type.

    3. Click Create and select.
