Data Output

A Data Output shows the results produced by a process. It’s similar to an output parameter.

You create Data Outputs in processes by adding the Data Input element to the diagram.

You create Data Outputs in a Task by defining the Output attribute. Data Outputs aren’t visually represented in the diagram.

Data Output attributes

Fill in these fields in the Attributes tab:

• Item Definition

  The data type of the Item the Data Input or Data Output is referencing.

• Default Value

  The default value of the Item the Data Input or Data Output is referencing.

Define this attribute in the Item Definition tab of the Attributes panel:

• Item Definition

  The types of data you can use in a BPMN model. Modeler has default options that are simple types and arrays of simple types.

  • To add an item definition, click Add.

  • To remove an item definition, select the item from the list then click Remove.

  • To complete or edit an item definition, select the item definition from the list and fill in these fields:

    Field	Description
    Data structure	The name of a data type.
    Description	A description of the data type.
