Data Output

A Data Output shows the results produced by a process. It’s similar to an output parameter.

You create Data Outputs in processes by adding the Data Input element to the diagram.

You create Data Outputs in a Task by defining the Output attribute. Data Outputs aren’t visually represented in the diagram.

Data Output attributes

Fill in these fields in the Attributes tab:

• Item Definition

  The data type of the Item the Data Input or Data Output is referencing.

• Default Value

  The default value of the Item the Data Input or Data Output is referencing.

Define this attribute in the Item Definition tab of the Attributes panel:

  Defines the type of data available in a BPMN model. Default options include simple types and arrays of simple types.

  Data structure	The name of a data type.
  Description	A description of the data type.
